About the Festival
Welcome to She'ela Festival
Sunday 4 September 2016
The inaugural She’ela festival offers talks, workshops, performances and exhibitions by talented and remarkable women in the Melbourne Jewish community and beyond.
Featuring over 40 guests speakers, the program explores a range of topics with an emphasis on courage, innovation and reaching beyond conventional boundaries. It also provides a platform to reflect on the progress that has been achieved by outstanding community organisations that support and encourage women. She’ela aims to be a thought-provoking, engaging and accessible forum for Jewish women of all ages and backgrounds.
The festival theme is 'stepping out of your comfort zone' which will be explored in many different forums.
There is a wide variety of activities throughout the day with flexibility to come and go according to your availability and what appeals to you. A She'ela Festival ticket gives you access to all sessions (and complementary dinnner) although it is not essential to stay the whole day to reap the benefits.
She'ela is a not for profit initiative run by volunteers. It is a non-denominational event and prides itself on bringing together such a diverse range of speakers, participants and organisers.
This is a unique opportunity to access a wealth of experience in an all-inclusive environment.
Spiritual, good humoured, loving and caring
"A Sheila is a great and loving person, someone that you can call a sister. The most amazing cook, generous heart, caring and loving. She is funny and loves to dance even if it is to her own music. Life is full of fun and funny stories with lots of laughter when you are with her. She pushes her self out of her comfort zone to accomplish the tasks that are placed before her with a job well done.
When you are sad or feeling ill she is the first one to respond to your side. If you're a Sheila set your goals high, because this is what Sheila's do. It is cool to be a Sheila ...Bright, Smart and Beautiful inside and out.
Are you ready to discover your inner She'ela?
